The fortress included a complex of defensive fortifications, and developed infrastructure. The permanent structures projected in 1899, are very similar to reinforcings of Port Arthur. The structures of fortress built in 1910 - 1917 had not analogs in the world. Under the engineering decisions they anticipated modern condition of engineering idea on 15 - 20 years. The foreign experts from legion of the interventionists have recognized its structures " as a miracle of engineering art "of Russian.
Usage of the fortified structures, which have lost a value, for the purposes of tourism is world-wide practice. The stored structures of a stability are indicative architecturally, their majority is in forest - park zone of city, at tops of mountains and coastal territories. All of this in many respects determines their exclusive value for tourist.
Primorskiy Regional Department of Russian Social Organization "Russian Society of Protection of History and Culture" engages of recovery of cultural heritage and finds issue of people who were concerned with history of discovery, colonization of Primorskiy region and of construction of Vladivostok Fortress, also we are interested in data about people who were served in fortresses of Vladivostok and Port Arthur till 1922 and about people who took part in Russian-Japanese War. This materials will use for reports of scientific practical conference, which will be devoted to century of Russian-Japanese War.
Photography, documents, memoirs, objects will occupy a worth place in Social Museums "Vladivostok Fortress" (1996) and "Heritage"(2000), which were founded by our Organization.
We will feel gratitude for any information, because our Social Organization reveres people's memory, who were connected with history of Region, recovers their names, there by fills up blank spot of Russian history.
